The HV30C is built to last but as most things it won’t continue venting your radiator air forever, when you get to the stage where you start getting problems with your radiators again you will need to think about what to do next.
The most cost effective thing to do is to purchase a HV30C replacement cartridge as this is less than half the price of a replacement valve. All you need to do is unscrew the existing cartridge with the U key that was provided when you purchased the valve and replace it with a new one. It is that simple, no need to drain your heating system, no mess or hassle. It’s a really easy job that can be done in a matter of minutes.
If you do not have the U key that was originally provided with the valve (let’s face it, we all lose things like this over time and we’re talking years before your HV30C will stop venting as efficiently) then please let us know and we will send you one FOC when we despatch your HV30C replacement cartridge.
The cartridge part is the ‘bit’ in the middle of the valve with the two tiny holes in it, it’s chrome finish and so blends in with the rest of the valve perfectly, in fact at first glance you probably wouldn’t notice that it can even be replaced.
If you have a micro then i’m afraid at the moment the only option would be to replce the complete valve as there is no replacement cartridge available for this particular model. Please do contact us if you have any questions about replacement cartridge’s or in fact anything else to do with self bleed radiator valves, we are always happy to offer advice.
