Self Bleed Radiator Valves

Self bleed radiator valves alleviate the need for manual bleeding, it’s one of those jobs that we all hate but have to do. Manually bleeding your radiators is time consuming and messy and unfortunately just another job on a very long list of jobs.

Air shouldn’t exist in central heating systems, it’s not supposed to be there and does nothing but cause problems, and even if you do manually bleed your radiators air can return through micro-gaps. These gaps don’t allow water to escape but do let the air in. This can be a continual problem, water acts like a sponge and when in cools and contracts it absorbs even more air which is then released when heated.

Having air in your system is not only annoying (ever heard them banging!) but can reduce the effectiveness of your radiators, an inefficient radiator means additional heating costs. If too much air gets into the radiator then it can seriously impact on your energy bills.

So why self bleed radiator valves

These valves automatically de-aerate the system, once fitted they ensure your central heating system is kept completely topped up with water and operating at their most efficient, thus meaning your radiators are always hot. Find out more about our range of self bleed radiator valves.
